America’s Cheapest Family Saving Money

By Daniel | June 9, 2008

Annette and Steve Economides are known as America’s Cheapest Family. They currently have a book out called America’s Cheapest Family, Gets You Right on the Money, which shows how they live, raised five kids, paid off their first house in nine years, and never had a car payment. You can find their website here and if you’re interested in their book, you can find that here. ISBN: 0307339459

Below is a movie clip from Annette and Steve where they share 5 tips for saving some money.

  1. Take your lunch to work 2-3 times per week.
  2. Use a cell phone as your only phone. Put restrictions on your child’s plan.
  3. Plan a menu - reducing shopping trips.
  4. Get bargains after the holidays. Set aside money each pay check for next year’s presents.
  5. Get an entertainment book. Use coupons and only for special occasions.
